Making the extraordinary manageable

The Code Black Psychology team specialises in providing threat management, legal knowledge, psychological and social work services that address repeat harmful behaviours in workplaces, people’s homes and the wider community. We are an interdisciplinary team of experienced practitioners providing services to (1) care teams supporting persons with complex mental health and psychosocial disabilities with persistent risks of harming themselves and others, and (2) organisations seeking expertise in the resolution of complex and protracted disputes and complaints as well as opportunities to enhance psychological safety.

Our approach

Our approach is working collaboratively with our clients by bringing our core values of confidence, curiosity, and integrity to every case. We create confidence and clarity by empowering brave decisions based on knowledge, creativity, and collegiality. We embrace the challenge of creating novel insights through curiosity, empathy and lateral thinking. We use integrity to live and value authentic relationships with our clients and the complex persons they support through respect and trust.

Values and sectors

Code Black Psychology lives our values by taking inspiration from Mātauranga Māori as the source of cultural wisdom. We incorporate the core value of tika by striving to carry out the tasks of our work in the right way, for the right reasons, and for the benefit of all.

We work extensively in the government and corporate sectors in Australia and New Zealand. We provide training, policy and framework development, and consultations on complex and intractable cases where individuals use aggression to achieve their aims.
