Mr Roberto Ciudad Real

Roberto Ciudad Real is a Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner with over seven years of experience in the NDIS sector, having worked in a variety of roles including Disability Support Worker Level 3, Disability Case Manager, and Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner. His experience in supporting individuals with physical disabilities and mental health conditions began in 2011, when he worked as a Medical Practitioner within the Salvadoran health system. In this role, he provided care to both adults and children in community, acute, and chronic care settings.

Roberto holds a Doctorate in Medicine from UEES University in El Salvador, completed nursing training at IHNA in Melbourne, Australia, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Disability and Inclusion at Deakin University. With a solid educational foundation and extensive practical experience, Roberto has developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by participants with complex needs, as well as the importance of supporting their networks in achieving their goals and fostering empowerment and sustainability.

His interest in the NDIS sector grew during his nursing training in Australia, leading him to specialize in Positive Behaviour Support for individuals with behavioural support needs. Roberto’s areas of expertise include forensic behaviour support, managing complex conditions (including both chronic and acute medical issues), regulated restrictive practices, and mental health disorders.

Roberto is dedicated to supporting participants by collaborating with their formal and informal support networks. He takes an evidence-based approach, focusing on education, creating awareness, and fostering strong connections, all while maintaining empathy and understanding.
