Ms Siobhan Welna

Siobhan is a member of the Behaviour Support Team at Code Black Psychology and a Behaviour Support Practitioner. Siobhan’s role is developing behaviour support plans and functional behavioural assessments for complex clients, typically justice-involved NDIS participants.

Siobhan has completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology (hons) and master’s degree in health psychology at the University of Stirling, Scotland. Siobhan’s qualifications relate to understanding how psychological, behavioural, and cultural factors contribute to physical health and illness. The skills needed to help people deal with the psychological and emotional aspects of health and illness, and to support people who have long-term conditions. Siobhan has also achieved a Counselling and Psychotherapy certificate. 

Siobhan has worked in the third sector as a Mental Health and Well-being advisor, utilising recovery-focused techniques and tools to empower people to motivate positive changes. To support this work, Siobhan was trained in trauma informed responses, safety and stabilisation and decider skills. 

Siobhan’s areas of interest focus on victim experience of complex clients. Working to identify the unique challenges faced by victims when navigating complex systems of support and justice. Siobhan flourishes when working with clients as individuals to offer a bespoke experience that ensures they feel heard and understood. Collaborating with the care teams and families to be present, providing advocacy, warmth and acceptance, without judgement as part of being their behaviour support practitioner.
